The Best Kind of Purge...
Posted on April 05 2018
With all the tempting new fashions for Spring, we all know it's THAT time - what am I going to do, I have no room , I can't look at this stuff- closet clean out! The Stylists at Deborah James are always available to help tackle this project . The first hour is complementary and it always helps to have a second pair of eyes help you let go of that favorite top you haven't worn in a year and a half!
Once I've donated things I know I won't be wearing to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (easy to schedule and they pickup), it's easier to start organizing.
Everyone has a system that works for them, but what I really find works well for me is grouping my clothes by style (jeans, dresses, tops, etc) and then organize by sleeve length and color. Being the detailed person I am, I also like to have my closet look pretty! So I love the felt hangers you can find just about anywhere - they also take up a lot less room!
The Container Store is a treasure trove of everything you could possibly use to stay organized- I label bins or baskets for my sweaters (grouping by color/ fabric), accessories etc. The clear shoe box size are perfect for all those little things that tend to get lost!
Once my closet's organized, I can start having fun seeing what I need to fill in… I know, you're thinking that I have a whole store to choose from so what could I POSSIBLY need! But just like you, my style changes - not to mention how comfortable I feel in certain things- and I can't having everything either!
5 FAVORITE ITEMS OF THE MONTH:
1. KIMONO WRAP
I'm definitely getting my fill of easy KIMONO wraps - they're perfect for our Florida lifestyle and so easy to pack- loving this Giada Forte leaf print - how Florida!
2. HIGH WAISTED JEANS
After wearing boy skinny jeans for a while, I'm loving the look of the HIGH-WAISTED, WIDE LEG jean from Nili Lotan. Shop Now
3. CROPPED BLOUSE
A go -to blouse has to be in the mix- whether the "Fiona" blouse in linen from Frank and Eileen, or a fun print from Raquel Allegra… Pieces need to be versatile and these can go back to the high waisted jeans or a great linen pant.
4. PEDRO GARCIA SANDALS
Pedro Garcia has always been one of my favorite summer sandals staples - I wear them with just about everything - the hardest choice is which one to choose! Shop Now
5. MARSELL BAG
...and of course, SHINE just has to be in my wardrobe for summer… So that's coming from this fabulous Marsell zip top bag.
FINALLY, Spring is HERE! Get out and enjoy it!
