September Blog

Posted on September 02 2019

Whew- I look at the calendar and can’t believe it’s September! Unfortunately, with that comes hurricane season.  I’m hoping everyone is somewhere safe and praying for all those less fortunate than us in the Abacos and Bahamas.
Our seasonal clients are already letting us now they’ll be back in a month, and I know they’ll be so excited with all the wonderful fashions- the store is a treasure trove!
So much has come in since I wrote the last blog- it’s really starting to feel (and look) like fall!
Anything with texture and pattern is fun this season.  R13 did a fabulous floral print in their classic boyfriend jean.  And with so many colors to play with- work it with you favorite cashmere from Avant Toi or a Nili Lotan blouse.

Plaid looks fresh and new this fall- and Avenue Montaigne really hit a home run.  Offering narrow or wide leg crop versions, they’re perfect with your Officine Creative boots or Golden Goose sneakers.

There’s nothing like mixing up some textures and prints!  UK designer Simeon Farrar works this to perfection in his fall collection.  This colorful, pull on skirt is so easy!    With all those colors, it’s a great travel piece.

…And everyone needs that one show stopping, “makes you feel like a rock star” favorite in their closet.  This gorgeous embellished jacket from Camilla is mine!  Whether I wear it dressy with a flowy satin pantslip dress or R13 jean- I know it will be a go-to piece.

Ornamentation isn’t just making a comeback in jewelry- Belts get their fair share of glitz too!  This fun piece from Gabrielle Frantzen can be worn as a belt or switch out the strap from one of your bags!

For all of our avid readers- don’t forget September 6th is Read a Book Day!  It’s always such a great escape and there are so many wonderful books out there now.  So when I tear myself away from Vogue and all those wonderful fashion magazines, I love to curl up with a good read.  I just finished The Great Alone by Kristen Hannah and am on to The Alice Network by Kaye Quinn.  Of course, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens was probably my summer favorite!  Share what you’ve been reading with us too.

So get that closet organized, see what you’re missing, tear yourself away from that great book and we’ll see you in the stores soon!
